Élections municipales 2025 — Vision Lachute remporte une victoire totale

Alors que les résultats arrivaient au compte-gouttes, candidats, partisans et familles suivaient avec fébrilité l’évolution du dépouillement dans les différents bureaux de scrutin. Un achalandage exceptionnel, voire une surcharge des serveurs, semble avoir compliqué l’accès aux résultats en ligne, prolongeant le suspense chez les partisans de Vision Lachute et des candidats indépendants.
Malgré ces délais, la soirée s’est conclue sur un triomphe clair : l’équipe Vision Lachute a remporté les sept sièges du conseil municipal, en plus de la mairie, signant ainsi un second mandat complet pour Bernard Bigras-Denis.
Une victoire sans équivoque
Le maire sortant a été réélu haut la main avec 3 013 voix, contre 687 voix pour son opposant Francis-Karl Dubé.
Dans les districts, les résultats officiels confirment une domination totale :
District 1 : Aline Gravel (Vision Lachute) — 495 voix, contre Nathalie Vigeant (203)
District 2 : Yan Deschamps (Vision Lachute) — 516 voix, contre Jean-François Crépeault (117)
District 3 : Christian David — élu sans opposition
District 4 : Line Perron (Vision Lachute) — 389 voix, contre Alain Lanoue (180)
District 5 : Guylaine Cyr-Desforges — élue sans opposition
District 6 : Hugo Lajoie (Vision Lachute) — 428 voix, contre Luc Dubé (145)
« Terrain, terrain, terrain » : une stratégie payante
Lors de son discours de victoire, le maire Bernard Bigras-Denis a tenu à rappeler que la proximité avec la population avait été au cœur de la campagne :
« On a cogné près de 600 portes cet été. En politique, lorsqu’on se présente, on ne le fait pas pour soi-même, mais pour les citoyens, afin de faire avancer notre communauté ensemble. »
Il a aussi salué « un moment historique pour Lachute » et remercié chaleureusement les bénévoles et citoyens :
« La démocratie a parlé. Elle a dit oui à une équipe, oui aux chantiers que nous avons proposés, et oui à Vision Lachute pour quatre autres années. »
Des projets concrets pour les quatre prochaines années
La plateforme électorale de Vision Lachute met de l’avant plusieurs priorités :
Réinvestir dans les infrastructures municipales ;
Créer une scène permanente ;
Réaliser un centre multisportif ;
Poursuivre le développement du centre-ville et de la bibliothèque municipale ;

Renforcer le leadership régional de Lachute au sein de la MRC d’Argenteuil.
Le maire a d’ailleurs confirmé son intention de se présenter à la préfecture de la MRC, affirmant qu’il est « temps que Lachute reprenne un rôle de leadership pour faire avancer l’ensemble de la région ».
Une équipe unie et reconnaissante
Les élus ont souligné l’importance du travail collectif et de la solidarité. Plusieurs ont remercié les bénévoles, leurs familles et les citoyens pour leur confiance.
« Dès demain matin, on retourne au travail », a lancé le maire, promettant une continuité dans la vision et dans les actions entreprises.

As results trickled in, candidates, supporters, and families followed the vote count with mounting anticipation. Exceptional web traffic — and possibly a temporary server overload — made it difficult to access real-time results online, extending the suspense for supporters of Vision Lachute and independent candidates alike.
Despite the delays, the evening ended in a decisive triumph: the Vision Lachute team captured all seven council seats, in addition to the mayoralty, securing a second full mandate for Bernard Bigras-Denis.
A Clear Victory
The outgoing mayor was re-elected by a wide margin with 3,013 votes, compared to 687 votes for his opponent Francis-Karl Dubé.
Across the city’s districts, the official results confirmed Vision Lachute’s total domination:

“Groundwork, groundwork, groundwork” — A Winning Strategy
In his victory speech, Mayor Bernard Bigras-Denis emphasized that proximity to citizens had been at the heart of his campaign:
“We knocked on nearly 600 doors this summer. In politics, when you run for office, it’s not for yourself — it’s for the citizens, to move our community forward together.”
He also described the outcome as “a historic moment for Lachute” and expressed heartfelt thanks to volunteers and citizens:
“Democracy has spoken. It said yes to a team, yes to the projects we’ve proposed, and yes to Vision Lachute for another four years.”
Concrete Priorities for the Next Four Years
Vision Lachute’s platform focuses on several major priorities:
Reinvesting in municipal infrastructure
Creating a permanent outdoor stage
Developing a multisport complex
Continuing to enhance the downtown area and public library
Strengthening Lachute’s regional leadership within the Argenteuil MRC
The mayor also confirmed his intention to run for Warden of the MRC, stating that “it’s time for Lachute to reclaim a leadership role in advancing our entire region.”
A United and Grateful Team
Elected officials underlined the importance of teamwork and solidarity. Many took the time to thank volunteers, families, and citizens for their trust.
“Tomorrow morning, we’re back to work,” said the mayor, promising continuity in both vision and action.
